Himalayan Hailstorms

Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India

Our morning ha ṭha sweat becomes a joke
Himachali fields collect ice pebbles

I decide to read poems
And instead start to write one

I wonder if I have a gluten sensitivity
Almost sure that I do

I feel so good today
After a week-long pregnancy
From a loaf of bread that was fresh
That wasn’t actually sourdough

The slugs must be getting frisky
Their world moistening so briskly

Empty construction sites
Workers hide beedies puff to life
Chapped lips
Make chai sips

Tomorrow I’ll buy a bottle of semi-dry white
I’ll elegantly chill it
In my shower bucket for the next day
Wine Wednesday

Who says a basic bitch can’t drink alone
Why does future always blot out presence
It says so in itself
The present is a present!

!!!!!!

Olive laughingthrushes cackle
Genus species Trochalopteron lineatum
Are they making fun of me
Are they gluten-free

Spring showers may
bring May flowers

But May hail
Brings June on its tail
